Freres Biochar is a project located in the United States that uses biomass cogeneration that creates both heat and electricity, powering approximately 5,000 homes and heating the project's manufacturing facilities. During the combustion of biomass, biochar is produced which sequesters and removes carbon. This biochar can be added to soil and can even remove pollutants from stormwater.
