Circular Carbon was founded in 2018 with the idea of using biomass residues in the circular economy. The project produces and supplies biochar in large, scalable quantities and help their industrial clients to decarbonise with bioenergy solutions alongside carbon dioxide removal. The project uses circular economy and renewable energy to produce biochar from organic residues (cocoa shells) to restore the natural balance in agricultural soils. Biochar is improves soil fertility as it promotes the build-up of humus in depleted agricultural soils.

The project uses circular economy and renewable energy to produce biochar from organic residues (cocoa shells) to restore the natural balance in agricultural soils. Biochar also improves soil fertility as it promotes the build-up of humus in depleted agricultural soils.
• 8 farmers participated in the project thus far.
• 1,500 t of cocoa shell have been utilised so far. Imagine a pile the size of to the annual green/yard waste output of ~27,000 average households worldwide.
